Mission

Global Humanitarian Adventures' goal is to positively impact the world and its people by engaging volunteers in international service work. We accomplish this goal by recruiting enthusiastic volunteers from across the globe and partnering with international service agencies to serve the needs of those less fortunate. Our efforts accomplish the two part goal of providing relief and assistance to needy people of the world, while training, motivating, and empowering a new generation of active, globally-conscious citizens.

What makes GHA different from other relief organizations is our focus on volunteer involvement, and the ability to match volunteers with a variety of relief and service opportunities that are not confined to a specific cause. We attract volunteers to service by making it accessible & affordable, and by providing a true Global Humanitarian Adventure.

BE CAUTIOUS OF COMPANIES OR ORGANIZATIONS THAT CHARGE FOR VOLUNTEERING.

Volunteering should be about the experience, not the expense. If you simply want to volunteer while you are traveling, don't be afraid to head out on your own. You will be sure to find FREE volunteering opportunities simply by word of mouth once you arrive at your destination.

Here are a couple of ways to do it on your own... Ask for local service organizations, projects, or the local municipal office. Volunteers are generally greatly appreciated, but be prepared to cover your own expenses. Extra volunteers are great, but the additional financial responsibilities may be too much for a local service organization.

If you are looking for a packaged volunteer expedition, identify companies that focus on the overall experience (adventures, culture, activities, etc.) After all, the experience is what you should be paying for. Then make sure you understand the relationship between your coordinating organization & the project in which you will be placed. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Once you have determined the right organization & expedition for you, be prepared for the experience of a lifetime!

Partners

GHA partners with numerous service agencies to support & carry out their mission. We support their needs with volunteers, resources & project management. We work tirelessly to provide the most effective network for our volunteers, partner agencies & supporters.  

All of those volunteering on a Global Humanitarian Adventure are encouraged to join a local service agency when they return home.  We feel that this is a great way to act as global citizens & to work together to create change not only around the globe but in our own communities as well.
